A new contemporary art exhibition is to be held 2 to 12 July 2009 in the historic setting of Fakenham's 14th century Parish Church. Open to all Norfolk based emerging and established artists working in a full range of media, this vibrant and exciting exhibition will celebrate the creativity being practiced in our county.
Organised by PIN Members Keith and Debbie Osborn of Hillside Gallery & Studios, based in Fakenham, together with Fakenham Parish Church, the exhibition aims to present contemporary approaches to art with artists and makers in the county invited to submit their work for exhibition in the Church and a small area of the surrounding grounds. Work can be in any of the following media: collage, drawing, installation, painting, photography, printmaking, sculpture and textiles.
Keith said: “This is an exciting new venture for the town and will begin to put Fakenham on the arts map of Norfolk. There is such vitality and creativity in our county and being able to use this stirring venue to
showcase some of the best work of Norfolk’s contemporary artists and makers will make for an exhilarating exhibition”.
The exhibition will be open from 10am to 4pm every day from Thursday 2 July to Sunday 12 July 2009 (12pm to 4pm on Sundays). A special service for artists and the arts will be held at the Church on Sunday 5 July 2009, and an arts activity day for families on Saturday 11 July 2009. The exhibition will open late on Thursday 9 July 2009 from 6pm to 8pm.
