PIN Member selected for Prestigious Exhibition
Fakenham-based artist photographer Keith Osborn has been selected to exhibit at “Through the Lens”, the prestigious Open Photography exhibition held at the Royal West of England Academy (RWA) in Bristol which runs from 8 June to 20 July 2008.
The RWA received over 2,600 high quality submissions for the exhibition from across the country, and 3 of Keith’s works have been selected to be hung. Selection was via a two-stage process with successful submissions being chosen by a committee which included the President of the RWA and a number of prominent artist photographers. Keith’s 3 selected works are from his current and ongoing series of thought provoking black and white photographs entitled “Chair Portraits”.
The exhibition aims to present contemporary approaches to photography in art within a broad range of imagery involving photographic processes. Originality of concept as well as successful use of the processes chosen was taken into account when evaluating submissions.
Keith said: “Given the importance of the venue, the quality of the selection committee and the number of submissions it is a privilege to have been selected for the RWA exhibition.” Limited edition prints of the work chosen for the exhibition may be viewed at the Hillside Gallery & Studios Midsummer Event on 21/22 June 2008.
Keith currently works as a freelance artist photographer alongside his artist/designer wife Debbie at Hillside Gallery & Studios in Fakenham. As well as producing and exhibiting his fine art work locally, he also offers creative portrait photography services.
Hillside Gallery & Studios was established in late 2007 and shows both Keith’s and Debbie’s work within the setting of their own large gardens located just outside Fakenham. The work includes paintings, photographs, prints, jewellery, greetings cards and textiles. Regular special events and exhibitions are held and the gallery and studios are open to the public throughout the year.
